About Curtin Global Guide
Hi! Our names are Katrina, Jayne and Ananya, and we're excited to introduce Curtin Global Guide to you all!
Our Goal
This project was created for our Digital Creation Capstone unit at Curtin University, with the task to engage with an audience in a helpful and meaningful way. When asked to build connections we immediately thought of international student community at Curtin University. With over 9900 international students at studying Curtin in Perth, we wanted to create a project that would help ease the transition to life in Perth and studying at Curtin!
Our guide has tips and tricks for students navigating their university journey, including where to shop, eat and connect with others. This means that some tips can be helpful for remote or regional students who have moved to the city to study. Even if you have lived in Perth your whole life, you may still find some helpful tips you never thought of!
Meet the Team:
Katrina
Katrina is a Digital and Social Media student at Curtin University with a background in Graphic Design. She specialises in combining visual storytelling with digital strategy to create engaging, student-focused content. As an international student from China, Katrina values sharing life experiences with other overseas students to help them navigate challenges and overcome setbacks during their academic journey:)
Jayne
Jayne is about to complete her degree in Marketing & Digital and Social Media. As a half-Filipino, half-Australian student, she brings personal insight and experience working with international students, particularly at Curtin University, who host a large international student community. Jayne hopes to use her knowledge and experience to support current and future international students through Curtin Global Guide.
Ananya
Ananya is a final year Marketing and Digital & Social media student. She is half Thai-Chinese and half English, with both of her parents being past international students at Curtin University. Ananya has worked with many international students during her time at Curtin, as well as having overseas family interested in studying at Curtin. She wants Curtin Global Guide to assist people such as her uni peers and family to make the most of their time at Curtin and Perth overall!
